Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Humane Society of Chilton County (HSCC) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The HSCC has provided sheltering services for the homeless and unwanted animals of Chilton County for over 20 years.
Objectives of the HSCC:
Prevent animal cruelty, abuse and neglect
Educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering to control pet over-population
Increase public awareness and appreciation of companion animals
assist in providing a stress-free, healthy environment for lost, abandoned, neglected and stray animals
Provide emergency and wellness medical care for animals
Find permanent placement of animals into new homes
Develop financial resources, governmental and voluntary, needed to meet the needs of the Chilton County Community
Master community support and commitment for the entire Humane Society Enterprise through a systematic communications program which both speaks and listens to the community
