Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

We cover the 5 boroughs as listed on the home page. As you can imagine the areas we work are diverse, but they all have one thing in common - lots of people, often a transient population, and not too many homes with gardens!
* We rescue and rehome cats and kittens in our area, which may have come in for various reasons - sometimes people move and leave their cat, sometimes their owner dies, sometimes they are found wandering or injured, and sometimes they are handed in when people just can't cope anymore.
* We help with feral colonies. Unfortunately this is a big problem across London, and our dedicated team of volunteers do their best to trap, neuter, and relocate (where possible) these feral cats.
* We also help with assisted neutering for people on low income or pensions
* We care for long term ill and elderly cats - we're always looking for homes for these, but this is a difficult task and, in the meantime, they need to be looked after and given their medication when necessary
* We also give all our cats a full 'MOT and service'!
All this is done with no government or lottery funding, and we rely solely on goodwill and donations from local people and the people we help. None of the volunteers receive a salary from Cats Protection, and many give up hours of their time every week.
