Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Cats Protection (CP) formerly The Cats Protection League, is the UK's oldest and largest feline charity, actively helping and rehoming cats all the way from the Shetland Islands in the North to Falmouth in the South West. Our work involves the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of needy cats and kittens. We provide shelter, food and veterinary attention to all in our care until we can find them a home. We maintain a strict non-euthanasia policy - cats are never euthanased, except on veterinary advice.
Over the last 75 years, our organisation has experienced phenomenal growth, reflecting the fact that the cat is now the UK's favourite pet, with 7.7 million domestic cats. CP has a large voluntary branch fostering network and 30 premanent Shelters. Ninety percent of our work is carried out by a dedicated network of 5,000 volunteers who spend over 6 million hours each year on cat care.
