Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

We are in need of foster homes. If you can provide a clean, healthy space, fresh food and water and some love and care – we need your help!

I have a brother and sister pair who are now 4 years old. I am facing divorce and I am on disability. I have no family for myself to stay with and have several cats that will stay with me. Sammie and Cecelia were rescued when the barn they were in was torn down. I don't want anything to happen to them and have been reaching out to about everyone. They are house babies never outside since I brought them to our farm as kittens. My husband has done the unthinkabe 2 wks ago and living in the same home is not going to work much longer. Please help me place them. Kathy
I have two kittens they were born 2 days ago in my yard.I would appreciate if 1-1 can house the mother and two kittens till I find homes for them.I will advertise and help get them adopted.I will get the female cat neutered when instructed by vet.and will get the kittens neutered if that is possible.I have already taken several cats to nonosense in Temple when I catch them and will continue to be proactive with this over population of unwanted cats.It is impossible for me at this time to care for this cat and kittens at this month because I am caring for a dog with end stage cushings.I will gladly donate whatever you feel it will require to care for them until I can take them from mother and get them adopted out. Please consider this request and my generous donation seriously
