Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

My newly adopted dog escaped on 10/30/2022 before I could put tags on her or have her microchipped. She is a 15-lb black female Havanese, does not know her way home. Last seen near NW 30th and N Rockwell Ave., Bethany OK 73008. If you see her or can catch her, please call me or text me at 405-923-3771. Thank you! Ellen F.
I disabled and on SSI. I am not only physically disabled but I also have severe social anxiety so volunteering would not be possible. I am in desperate need of help for vetcare , puppy shots for my puppy and flea and tick treatment as well as spay and rabbies shit for my adult female auggie. Is there any places that an assist me without my having to be a volunteer. I live in Lexington Oklahoma.
