Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.
A Compassionate Director

In addition to O.A.R.'s spay/neuter program, the fact that they deal strictly with cats was very appealing to me. They also offered very low cost vaccinations for other feline diseases and micro-chipping and nail trimming and flea/tick and earmite control. They picked my girls up from a designated location and returned them the following day...which made it much easier than bringing my girls to their clinic. Love them!

OAR's director is dedicated to helping all the kitties that come through the shelter doors. She takes a personal interest in their stories and in finding them loving, safe homes.

The love and compassion shown by the volunteers at OAR are the reasons why I chose to volunteer myself. I saw how much these people love the kitties - all of the kitties from the special needs kitties to the cutest kittens. They volunteer because they want to make a difference, and they do!

OAR has a strong adoption program. They are dedicated to finding loving, safe homes for the cats. During volunteer orientation, they spoke of the need for adoption hosts, acknowledging that the more adoption hosts there are, the more evenings they can offer adoption hours. They are trying to make it easier for people to fit adopting a wonderful new family member into their schedules.

One of the cats I adopted from OAR was fostered, and I consider that person our cat's other mother because she cared for her and loved her. Volunteers are asked to consider fostering cats when they go through orientation, and it's obvious that the volunteers consider this an important job.

OAR staff and volunteers are dedicated in finding loving, safe homes for the cats that come to them. This is one of the top reasons why I signed up to volunteer.

O.A.R's spay/neuter program is very low cost, and is subjective to your county of residence. The cost, $10 at the time, for me, included a rabies vaccination.

Again, OAR is dedicated to helping curb the feline overpopulation problem by making it easier for owners to spay/neuter their furkids.
