Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

I have always adopted at shelters and believe it is the best way to save a pet. This was the first and last time we will adopt a pet from this establishment

Marion was extremely rude and unprofessional. She bad mouthed my personal vet who we trust and have been using for years. Her lack of compassion and empathy for the cat we adopted was horrible!

In my opinion I would not adopt an animal from this establishment and an investigation into their practices needs to be performed immediately!!

ADOPTED a cat with DIARRHEA, PARASITES AND FLEAS. Multiple calls to this establishment were never returned and took him to our vet. Upon examination it was determined that this poor kitty has parasites. Spent $200 and had to bomb the house from fleas. Having a toddler being bitten from fleas is unacceptable. He was an indoor cat and was never outside. After posting a review received a call from Marion who seemed to care more about the review than the welfare of the kitty

IMPORTANT: This form is only for public comments about the shelter. To contact EARS Animal Rescue Sanctuary (Englewood), please go directly to their website (link on previous page), this form will not send your comment to them.
Please note that all these reviews were made by the same person. EARS is a committed to no-kill animal rescue, last year we adopted out over 300 animals. Unfortunately, we were not able to make this adopter happy regardless of how hard we tried.
