Hi Jenny, I am sorry you had an unpleasant experience with a volunteer. Know, we try to answer the calls daily as volunteers, and as you said, there is an epidemic of stray cats. We personally try to direct callers to places for help. we have often covered the veterinary care of animals not in our rescue. We do not take strays. There are strict Florida Statutes for holding strays. I can't speak for other groups, but we follow them. That is a 90 day holding period while the owner is hopefully located. As a foster based rescue, we do not have the manpower to hold a possibly owned pet for 90 days. We do support cat based rescues, unfortunately, we are no longer a cat based rescue, but a first come, first serve rescue for mostly special needs animals, that need medical care. It troubles me that you were treated rudely, we try to voluntarily help as many callers as they come, and literally that can be up to or more than 50 calls daily for help.
