FVHS - Fraser Valley Humane Society (Mission)
Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Fraser Valley Humane Society was first formed in the summer of 1999, when the Fraser Valley (BC, Canada) was put on flood alert.
With the cooperation of veterinary facilities and volunteers from the community, we were able to establish a telephone hot-line and database to register and coordinate foster homes for pets in need. This database was available to other areas as needed, and therefore a network of help was created.
The FVHS works to eliminate the endless suffering of strays and abandoned cats in our community. Our no kill centre provides a humane approach to animal welfare. For the health and safety of the cats ALL of our cats are Indoor Cats Only.
