About this Cat

Jeni is a gorgeous, elegant creature. I adopted her with Beni, her twin and littermate, from a shelter 2.5 years ago. The twins are a bonded pair and it would be best to adopt them together. While Beni is a "dog in a cat's body,” Jeni is a classic cat - graceful, slightly aloof, and fastidious. The only reason I am seeking to rehome Jeni and Beni is that my schedule has changed a lot over the last year. I am no longer able to work from home, travel much more for work, and had a baby. Due to these changes, I can tell Jeni is not quite as happy as she used to be. She thrives when played with at least 15-30 min a day and without that, she gets noticeably withdrawn. She also misses sleeping in our room, which she currently can't because we are co-rooming with an infant. While she does not need as much human interaction as Beni, she enjoys sleeping in the same room as humans and playtime, something she doesn't get as much of anymore. Jeni is not only a beauty just as her name implies (her pink nose!), she is the definition of a low maintenance cat. Unlike her brother, she does not require a ton of human attention and prefers her own company or the presence of a calm adult most of the time. When I worked from home, she always slept in my office near me. Her favorite way to interact with humans is through play - she adores wand toys. She is also clicker trained and can sit and stand on command. She also knows laydown and come, though she prefers not to most of the time! She is slightly harder to train than Beni because she is not very food motivated, but quite frankly, she is better behaved overall. Jeni has the cutest, sweetest meow and will occasionally approach a human with a meow asking to be pet. She is also very smart; when she wants your attention she will meow at you and lead you to where she wants to go. Things she has brought to our attention: 1.) bugs 2.) water leaking under our fridge and 3.) times we accidentally locked Beni in the pantry or closet (he sneaks in after us sometimes). Jeni tends to hide when strangers come to visit or watch the excitement from a distance. She prefers adults and older children who give her gentle pets and respect her space. She is also fine with younger kids and babies; she just stays out of arm's reach. Jeni has never bitten or scratched anyone. While she doesn't love being held, she will tolerate it so long as you have a treat in your hand and will allow you to clip her toenails. Jeni and Beni deserve to be with people who can give them the love and attention they need. The perfect home for Jeni would be one with adults/older kids who allow her to sleep with them at night, play with her a few minutes every day, and give her space to do her own thing. Ideally, she will be adopted with her twin, Beni. Jeni has been fine with other male cats (unknown with female cats), but avoids dogs.

Adopt Jeni and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Jeni's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Jeni receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Jeni, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Jeni's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Jeni was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Jeni’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Jeni’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Jeni’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
