About this Cat

Good Afternoon. I found your website while trying to find a home for our sweet cat, Megadoodle. Megadoodle is about 11 years old (sadly I've lost track). I'm not sure that you will accept kitties that need to be given up but we are having so much difficulty finding a new home for her. The problem is that we are moving and Mega loves being outdoors. We live in Milford and are only moving 3 miles away to another location in Milford however our new home backs up to open space. Megadoodle was born in this house and spends almost all of her time outside these days. We are afraid that if we take her with us she will be very unsafe because our new home back up to open space. Even if we try to keep her inside, I am concerned that she would escape and get out. She's always been good at that! We know that re-homing a cat can be difficult and our concern is that she will be out in the open space and either get lost trying to get back to our old home or wind up being hurt by another animal. She has always had a yard and a quiet neighborhood to play. She's very good at coming in to eat but then leaves right away. She's always been a little skittish and not a lap cat but she's still cute. She doesn't fight with other cats as far as we know. She has never had any injuries that might show any fighting and she is on the small side. She lost her best friend, Jeremy, about a year and a half ago and that really seemed to change things for her. Jeremy was our 18 year old cat that had gone blind and had gotten sick. He went from watching over Megadoodle outside to having roles switched and Mega started watching over him. We finally had to have him put down which was really hard. She became more skittish without him. Now we just don't want anything bad to happen to her. We are not moving until next month and we'll still be back and forth after we move until we sell our current house. So we'll be able to take care of her here in this house while we are getting it ready to sell and while it's on the market. We expect that to happen sometime in mid to late July. We even asked our real estate agent if we could sell the house with Megadoodle as an extra bonus! We are willing to pay all the costs of taking care of her including her well check vet visit once she can be brought to the vet for her updated shots and flea medication. She is several months behind because we had some trouble catching her for her scheduled appointment(s) and then I had surgery and then COVID hit all at the same time. All in all she is a healthy cat and is already spayed. I really hope that you can help us. We simply don't know what to do at this point. Thank you for reading this entire profile! I didn't mean to make it so long!

Adopt Megadoodle and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Megadoodle's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. How will Megadoodle receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Megadoodle, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Megadoodle's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Megadoodle was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Megadoodle’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Megadoodle’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Megadoodle’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
