About this Cat

He was abandoned by our next door neighbor. We believe him to be between 4/5 years old. We have known him for 1 1/2 years and ever since then he has always been an outdoor cat. He was fed outside by his owners. When we saw them move 2 months ago and not take him my husband and I decided to care for him outside on our deck. He has a bed and shelter he sleeps in, we feed him every day, we have given him toys to play with and is very playful! But sadly we are unable to care for him. He has been to the vet in Shelton and has had a thorough check up. He weighs 10 pounds. Got his rabies shot one month ago, got a leukemia shot today (needs one more next month), he has been tested and does not have FIV, he had worms but just got his last shot today for that, he just had his Bravecto put on today as well so he is good for 3 months for flea and tick control. And he has been neutered and his left ear clipped. His personality is very, very sweet. You can tell he just wants to be loved and for someone to take care of him. The only thing is he is quite skittish around people. With me he gets less skittish every day since I am the one that feeds him. He rubs up against my leg each time I go out to feed him or try to play with him. He likes his head being scratched lightly, and loves petting as long as you don't make fast sudden movements. He never hisses. The only time he hissed at me was when I tried to scratch his tushie and he was so not wanting that. Other than that he is just the cutest and sweetest. He has lots of good energy and is very playful with his toys. I've tried to play with him with cat ropes with a feather at the end, but all he wants to do is rub up against my leg. I say that he should be in a home where absolutely he is the only animal and where the owner can spend a good amount of time with him everyday on how to be an indoor cat. He wants to come in our home so I know he can do it, but sadly we cannot allow him to come in our home.

Adopt Oliver and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Oliver's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Oliver receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Oliver, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Oliver's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Oliver was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Oliver’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Oliver’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Oliver’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
