About this Cat

Dr. Jekyll is approx. 7 years old, all black, med size & weight, currently slightly underweight (stressed-low appetite), no medical requirements. We moved from Huntington Beach a month ago from a large apt and yard to a 390 sq ft studio. I also have a svc dog that is approx. 70 lbs. He was super happy in HB, got along with the dog, wandered all over the house and played often. He is not doing well now. The studio is simply not large enough for him and he and the dog. He is visibly unhappy. Doesn't play. Sits on a chair all day. He isn't acclimating to the move as is normal for a cat per his vet in HB. He and the dog are no longer getting along and are consistently edgy around eachother. He is starting to hiss at the dog. I talked to his vet in HB and he has advised that he simply cannot be in an environment this small and with a dog present as well. He has stated that I need to do the right thing and allow him to be adopted and get back to a happy cat life. I am devastated however I agree that I cannot be so selfish as to keep him in an environment that is not healthy to him. He is fully house trained. Was an outdoor indoor cat until about two years ago then indoor only. He has never been a cat to climb on curtains or get in the garbage. He just needs a scratching post and he is good to go. Having his foot closer to the ground might be nice for him. My dog eats the food if it is to low. He has always gotten along with dogs until now. He needs a good home. He is a super sweet cat just super unhappy right now. It shows in his pictures.
