About this Cat
We need to rehome one of our cats. We have never had to do this before - we’ve had 2 and sometimes 3 cats at a time for many years and have never encountered a situation where we ever had to consider rehoming a cat. Susu Is a 15 pound ball of love – she’s very affectionate, loves people, and like nothing more than snuggling up with us and getting her ears scratched. She also loves her laser tag toy and many other toys we have for her. She’s a real sweetheart but she’s just not getting along with our elderly cat. If you are interested in adopting her we would consider donating to the cost of her care for some period of time afterwards. We just really want to find her the right home. A few months ago, we adopted Susu when one of my students had to give up when grandma went into hospice. We’ve been thinking for a while about getting another cat to keep our current cat, Chloe company, and they seemed like the perfect match. Susu is affectionate, loving, loves people and very playful. However she is also 15 pounds, and while she’s not aggressive at all, she likes to play way more than Chloe does and Chloe has become more withdrawn and skittish since we got Susu. While they don’t fight exactly, Susu chases Chloe around the apartment until Chloe starts to hide and becomes upset. They sleep together at night, they sleep on adjoining chairs in the living room during the day – but Susu Doesn’t know when to stop trying to play, and Chloe is becoming more and more aggressive and conversely more and more withdrawn. We now believe that Chloe is actually older than we thought when we got her from the shelter some years ago.The thought that she might want a companion didn’t take into account that she really doesn’t want to play with another cat as much as we thought she might. Or at least not a cat that outweighs her by several pounds and is always on her to play. I promised the student when we took Susu that if we could not keep her we would find her another home. We had every expectation this would work and I’ve never ever had to rehome a cat even though we’ve had cats for over 30 years. But this is an extreme situation – we know Susu would do well in a home with a younger cat or being the only cat but it doesn’t look like we can keep her here. After verifying the adoption, Susu's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Susu was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Susu’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
