About this Dog
It is with great sadness that I must find a home for my Pit/Beagle, Paige. She is about 10 years old and about 48 lbs. I have struggled for 9 years to love and take care of her. She was given to me by dog fosters in 2011 who could not keep her in the same house with other dogs. I do not have information about her previous life other than she may have been born in October 2010 and somehow had her tail damaged in the time between than and when I received her. To give you my background, I have had multiple pets in my life, who have lived long and happy lives. I am not all one to turn away a dog as a matter of convenience. Her problem is that she is a single owner dog. I have taken her to socialization classes and have made every effort to make her comfortable around other dogs and people. This all took many steps back when she was brutally attacked by two enormous boxers in 2013, which, I believe, while not having left any physical scars, had left her permanently on the defense. To add to the frustration, despite monthly Advantix treatments, she acquired myelofibrosis from a tic bite. This disease causes her white blood cells to attack her red blood cells as they come from the marrow. To moderate her constitution, she is required to take daily doses, alternating between 15 to mgs of prednisone which, apparently, is making her more aggressive. Also, because of how the disease affects her immune system, she cannot be given the necessary vaccinations. She currently has a vaccine waiver in the state of PA. This aggression has not only furthered her aggression towards other dogs, but now she growls at my girlfriend and her children. Prior to her illness, Paige’s solitary attitude has caused her to chase any new influences out of my life. In my previous relationships, she has repeatedly, defecated all over a friends office, urinated all over two other friends house’s, and attacked their dogs. I, as well as my current and previous relationships have worked extremely hard to provide love, care , and discipline for her. Sadly, she is unwilling to make any compromises and I am brokenhearted and shattered to say that I can no longer sustain her. If you can provide any advice on on placing her to a single owner, I would be very grateful. One positive note is that she works very well with cats. Because of her strength, she would need to be placed with a younger owner because of how hard she pulls on the leash. She actually pulled my dad to the ground at one point. I appreciate if anyone knows of any placement services for older dogs that you could recommend. Thanks so much for your help.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Paige was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Paige’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
