About this Cat

Hello, my name is Homer. That is what these people named me because I am in search of a good home and someone to share my love with. I'd make you a really great cat! Well now, the pictures really don't do me justice. I am a very handsome cat even if I do say so myself! The problem with the pictures is that the lighting is bad. I'm white and the barn not very bright. Someone dumped me out on the highway sometime the last week of August then it stormed and rained on me. I made my way across this huge field of grass and found a dry warm barn but there were four other cats already living there. They were born in that barn and have never seen another cat or even a dog and they just aren't very friendly to strangers. Especially this one big black cat named Pepper. He could whip me just a few days ago but I'm holding my own now but I'm still scared of him. I'm a lover, not a fighter. The people here have been very kind to me feeding me and I have let them pet me after just a few days. Did I say they are very kind to cats? They are, but their four cats and I just can't get along. I really need a good home where I can be accepted. Such is my state. Now some specifics about me: Name: Homer but I'll accept being renamed though I already answer to this one and even come running when called if it suits me. I am a fast learner. Gender: Male not neutered. Color: White with some orange mixed in and my tail is mostly orange and it is looooong and bushy and I hold it up high to greet these host people when I come out of my hiding spot under the Jeep. Hair length: I'd say medium but not my tail! I'm not one of those really fuzzy cats that shed a lot though but I do need brushed. Age: Don't know, my birth certificate was lost in the storm but they say I am a mature guy but probably not old. My teeth look good and I can eat hard food. Eye color: Beautiful blue. My eyes were really sad when I got to this farm but they are brightening up now because I found some good food and someone who is nice to me. Manner and manners: The host people I'm living with think I must have had a home once and someone that was nice to me because I love to have my head petted. In fact I love to be petted all over! I purr and purr! I learned not to jump up on the work bench but that comes from prior experience. You could not pry me out of this barn with a crowbar though so they think I have been an inside cat at one point in time. There are coyotes outside this barn! I can hear them at night and I'm not going out there! All day long there are trucks and tractors and things going on that I have never seen and don't want to see again. My ideal home: After adaptation and I get settled I could probably be an in and out homebody but inside works too. Did you know that Issac Newton invented the cat door and I already know how to used one? I'm a good looking boy and would improve the look of any home. I may even use the litter box already but I am a fast learner. Most cats are on this matter. There is much more to me so why don't you come save me from Pepper? I'll make you a great cat and companion if you'll take care of me. From the Host of Homer: We'd like to keep Homer but our first obligation is to the four cats that came to us as kittens two years ago. The have lived out here with just us since they were born feral and their little mother died. Over the years they have become family and they must come first. Other cats have been dumped on us but they have either been sick and died or Pepper ran them off. Pepper is a trooper but he has a torn ACL and this has always been his territory and it must stay that way. Homer has gotten stronger is not having being run off and so, sadly, he needs to find a new home. The two girls are afraid of him and he has taken over their barn and perches. This will not do. The other little beta male cat just tries to stay out of the way of it all and keep up with his grasshopper hunting. Some cats go beyond inquisitive and want to keep up with what you are doing. We have a little gray cat like that and now Homer does it to. When we are working on some of the equipment he finds a perch and watches as long as we are there. Intently. We seldom see a cat that just comes in and becomes so loving and adapted so quickly so we are guessing Homer once had someone that loved him before someone else threw him away. We thought he was old at first but I think he was just really sad because his eyes have brightened, he walks easily with confidence and pads in place when he is petted then closes his eyes, smiles and purrs. He is also a pretty talkative fellow, wants to be with people and cries when I leave him. He seems healthy since he is gaining weight, eats really well and eats dry or canned food. He'll need a visit to a vet and his shots and neutered. All that will cost about $100.00 or less. Don't expect him to jump in your arms all at once. Someone has been really mean to him and broken his heart but he can learn to love someone who loves him first. There are lots of stray cats that need homes and love but a good one like Homer is hard to find. You should come see him and try to get acquainted. If you like him and he can't be caught we'll do that later then let you know when that has been done so you can get him. We won't just keep him penned up though. He has already had enough trauma.

How will Homer receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Homer, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Homer's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Homer was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Homer’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
