About this Cat
Miko is a handsome, 10 or 11 year old tabby with a loving, friendly personality who loves nothing more than to lay on your lap and snuggle. He is a big boy, weighing 13 pounds. He is playful and likes to use upright scratching posts. We got him from a friend who was fostering him after he had been flown up to Seattle from a Palm Springs kill shelter. He was a good cat for our family until recently when we moved into a much smaller home. The irregularity of our schedules seems to stress Miko out. What he needs in a new home is someone who will have time to sit with him and give him attention, as well as provide a generally calm atmosphere . He takes a small thyroid medication (in a pill pocket) twice a day with meals,and a new owner would need to be able to take care of this special need. He may not need it forever.

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Miko's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Miko was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Miko’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Miko’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Miko’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund.
