About this Cat

Good morning. My name is Jessica and I have a kitty named Tootie that I cannot keep in my home anymore. I have had her since she was a kitten and she is a wonderfully loving cat. She has always been a rather skittish cat and when I was single and living alone she was happy, but when I met my husband and moved in with him (and his cat Boo), Tootie became even more nervous. She was 3 years old when I moved in with my husband and almost 2 years ago we had a baby. This made Tootie even more nervous in our home. Now that the baby is mobile, we rarely see Tootie (only at night when the baby goes to bed). She is never aggressive but will run and hide whenever she is scared, which is a lot. Boo (the other cat) tries to play with Tootie (stalks and attacks her playfully) but Tootie sees it as a real attack. She hates Boo. We believe Boo has ambushed Tootie in the litter box several times and due to this and the heightened stress of our house, Tootie has gradually started going potty everywhere. Although she still pees in the litter box (sometimes), she regularly poops on the floor. We can deal with the poop, but within the last several months she has started peeing on the carpets, mainly in the baby's room. We have gotten the carpets professionally cleaned but the smell lingers and the baby has had several bronchial and respiratory infections (including a recent bout with pneumonia). We fear that the continual peeing in his room may be causing this. We have tried everything to retrain Tootie's behavior but are at our wits end. We have added litter boxes, changed litter, changed placement, given her anti-anxiety drugs. Everything, short of locking her in the bathroom for the rest of her life. I truly believe that Tootie would be much happier with a single person in a more calm household. She was the perfect pet before our lives changed and I think with some time and a little retraining she will be happy again. I DO NOT want to have her put to sleep. Is there any way you can help us? Or know anyone who can help her and us?

Adopt Tootie and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Tootie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Tootie receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Tootie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Tootie's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Tootie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Tootie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Tootie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Tootie’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
