About this Dog

Scout is a very sweet little beagle, but does have some issues, so will need a very special home. Scout was rescued from a hunting club in Ga, and has been with us for the past 5 years. When we first brought her home, she had a hard time adjusting to being a ‘pet’ - she had never even seen stairs before! She learned quickly though, and eventually became a very loving ‘lap dog’. About 3 months later after we had her spayed, she started having urinary incontinence, and also started 'marking her territory'. When we took her to our vet, they said that some females develop a bladder (or kidney?) problem after they are spayed, so they put her on Proin medicine and special Urinary food. She has been on this regimen for the past 4 years. Her main issue, and the reason that we are unable to place her in a new home ourselves, is that she is very territorial. She searches out small pieces of paper or cardboard or plastic or even clothing, and chews them up. It's an obsession. If either of us happens upon her while she has her ‘prize’, she will bare her teeth and charge at us. She has nipped a few times, though never enough to break the skin. She is more scary than dangerous. She is also wary of strangers, so we generally keep her in her crate when people come over. Also, she loves to howl, and will bark at anyone that passes by. These are clearly issues that will likely make her difficult to place. She cannot be placed with a family with children or one that has a lot of houseguests. But she is extremely sweet- she gives kisses and loves tummy rubs. I feel she will be happiest in a home where she can spend a lot of time outdoors, but one that doesn't have many close neighbors. She is up to date on all of her vaccinations, and is on regular heart worm medication.

Adopt Scout and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Scout's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Scout receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Scout, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Scout's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Scout was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Scout’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Scout’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Scout’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
