About this Cat
Unfortunately, and with a great amount of sadness, I have to rehome my cat Roscone. 11.5 years old Domestic Shorthair Male Neutered Chipped Up to date on shots Indoor I have had Roscone since he was born in my apartment over 11 years ago. He has diabetes, and requires insulin injections each day. I am in the middle of separation from my wife, and the cost of his medication and syringes is just not something I can sustain on my own. I will soon not have the physical space for him to have a good life, either. Nor do I expect to have the mental bandwidth to give him the love and attention he deserves. He has developed the unfortunate behavior of trying to get into any food we leave out that he has access to. With a 3 year old, it is very difficult to manage. When he gets access to my son’s snacks, he eats it, and ends up vomiting or becoming hyperglycemic, sometimes both. It is not good for him, but it is so hard to control for me right now where we’re at. I think in a different setting he would do much better. He is getting aggressive with my son in trying to get his food, and we need to keep him locked in the bathroom at meal times. My son is developing an adversarial relationship with Roscone, which is NOT how I want him to relate to pets, whom we love and want around. I want Roscone to spend his remaining days showered in love that I don’t feel I can provide him at this time. I don’t like that I need to rehome him, but it is what is best for all of us involved. Roscone is very large compared to other cats. Not necessarily in body fat, though he did get pretty big once he went from outdoor/indoor to strictly indoor 5 years ago. He has lost quite a bit of weight since then, being on a diet. He just has a large frame like a maine coon does, though not quite that big. He loves to cuddle and is very affectionate. Aside from recent food related upsets, he is very well mannered and even tempered. A big old sweet heart who I've never seen scratch anyone on purpose. I am charging a rehoming fee of $25 only to ensure he goes to a home that wants him. However, I am willing to negotiate the fee down for the right home. I will also provide at minimum a month of insulin and syringes. I need this to happen as soon as possible, so if you read this and can’t take him yourself, please think for a moment if you know somebody who will. Thank you so much.

After verifying the adoption, Roscone's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Roscone was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Roscone’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
