About this Dog

Max is Neutered male pit mix. He is very people friendly (including children) and gets along well with other dogs, but has a strong prey drive. He will kill small animals that wander into our yard (opossums, rats, snakes & cats) and has killed two neighborhood cats that wandered in our yard & one when my husband was working on the fence & accidentally let him out. We’re have difficulty with the neighbors and have to let him go. He is fully up to date with all shots/vacinations and will supply vet records. My husband and I are in our 70's and I work part-time. We don't have the time or energy to give him the exercise & training that he needs. The last adopter said he was perfect except for separation anxiety. They watched him on the ring camera when they left and he walked in circles until they returned. He also cried all night if locked out of the bedroom. The lady of the house slept in the living room and he was happy. He accidentally followed her out the front door and saw the neighbor's cat. He started to go after it, but when she yelled "Max stop," he sit. He also knows sit, bed, feed, treat, and go. He loves to ride in the car or truck. He's inclined to bark and the Mail person or UPS or if someone comes to the door. He's very loving and will sit at your feet with his head in your lap. He also loves a good belly rub and will lie on his back with his feet in the air. I hate the thought of taking him to the SPCA or any place where he'll be caged and possibly euthanized. We come to Theodore, AL some weekends, but live near New Orleans. Would be happy to meet either place. Please contact me if you can help with Max. 504-458-2807 504-458-2807

Adopt Max and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Max's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Max receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Max, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Max's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Max was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Max’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Max’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Max’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
