About this Dog

UPDATED! I really tried to make things work, but now I definitely need to find a home for this sweet girl. Sydney is a black and white pom who turned 11 in March, so she's a senior girl. Sydney would likely do best with a single woman. She can be a bit shy in general, but is very, very loyal. She is nervous around men, but will adapt to a man who is gentle with her. She will NOT do well in a home with young kids or other animals that are rowdy or like to play a lot. She needs someone who wants to hold her or have her sit up on the couch a lot. If you're looking for a pom you can run around the dog park or wrestle with, it isn't Sydney, but she'll be a great cuddle companion. She does enjoy walks around the neighborhood, but will bark at strangers. Beyond that, she isn't a big barker, but she will be a fantastic guardian when you are out. She has shown no sign of any major health problems. She is due for shots again this summer, including rabies. She will need a dental cleaning. She also is going to need a good bath and groom when you get her (that's something I usually do, and haven't been able to). I have a pet insurance plan on her that is fully current and I'm willing to keep it going and transfer it to the new owner to continue with no interruption if that's something the next person wants. We've only used it for general vet visits to this point, but I'm guessing as she gets older she will need to see the vet for something medical at some point. I also have some clothes and cute harnesses she likes that I can give with her. She is already spayed and is house trained, but has stress incontinence in situations that make her anxious. I will also include her washable dog diapers - I use those if she’s stressed and it keeps the house nice. This is why she would do best with a single female who can spoil her, and please, you need to be someone who can be patient and gentle with her about the incontinence. Sydney has been very well loved. The only reason she is being rehomed is due to allergies that couldn't be resolved, plus I am disabled and my health has deteriorated badly over the last year. Despite that, I took my commitment to her very seriously, but I am now unable to take allergy medications and can't spend time with her. She deserves to have her remaining years filled with love and cuddles. If you're open to loving a senior dog, Sydney will fill your life with so much happiness. I DO require an adoption application (email me and I will send it to you) and I DO require that you pick her up in person, no shipping! There is a rehoming fee of $100 to ensure she goes to someone who truly wants her and will care for her.

Adopt Sydney and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Sydney's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Sydney receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Sydney, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Sydney's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sydney was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sydney’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Sydney’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sydney’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
