About this Cat
You might notice in her photos that Silver has an eye that looks a little different. Believe us when we say this is the LEAST interesting thing about this fun young cat! Silver came to us all the way from Kuwait through an international animal rescue group. She was found there as a stray with an injured eye, which is healed but left her with an eye that doesn’t quite work or look normal. That does not slow her down a bit! Silver is a silly, fun cat who LOVES people and play. She needs an active home with lots of places and people to play with her and use up her kitten energy. At just under a year old, she is non-stop cuddles and fun just waiting for a home. Silver is interested in everyone and everything. Making a noise? She wants to know why! Running the sink? She needs to supervise! Moving to another room? Here she comes, right next to your feet! Don’t trip! She is gentle with her claws and teeth on people, but loves to use them on her favorite toys. Her current favorite is a teddy bear she stole from her foster mom’s shelf and carries around in her mouth. She likes to wrestle with the teddy and run with it in her mouth. She also likes to wrestle with other cats and would love a playmate or two. She loves to chase balls and look out windows. She is happy to be held for short periods of time and, once worn out, is definitely a lap cat. She will sleep on your lap or chest in between play sessions and seeks out your attention especially when she wants to nap. She is also very talkative and tells you all about her day and when she needs attention. Silver is still a young cat who will need a lot of attention from her family. She is great about using her claws appropriately and using the litter box faithfully. There are other things she is still learning, like not getting onto counters and not making a total disaster of her foster room by knocking everything down. She is sort of like a puppy at this point – very loving and cute, but still learning to behave politely. She will need a very carefully cat-proofed home and a gradual introduction to existing pets so she does not overwhelm them. In order to assist with social distancing and to reduce risks of spreading COVID-19, we're asking that anyone interested in one of the cats at the Springfield Petsmart please complete our application online. We'll then reach out to you to share more information about the cat, ask any relevant questions, and make an appointment to meet the cat in person. Walk-ins to adoption fairs are welcome, but appointments will take priority.

Adopt Silver and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Silver's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Silver's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Silver, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Silver's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Silver was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Silver’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the Silver’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Silver’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
