About this pet

Name: Rachel DOB: 1/4/2020 Weight: 5 lbs Adoption Fee: 450.00 Rachel came from Texas with her siblings and her Mama. You may have seen their pictures. Her Mama is 35 pounds so not large herself but Rachel is extremely small. She will be a little girl fully grown. She is currently just over 6.5 pounds at 12 weeks old. She will very likely be under 15 pounds as an adult.  Don't let her size fool you this girl is full of spunk! She is the ruler of the roost with her siblings bossing them around all the time and isnt afraid to rough house even though they are so much bigger. She is good about staying clear of my elderly Lhasa apso when warned so I think she would do okay with cats but she has never been exposed to a cat. She likes to play with toys a bit but mostly wants to follow me around or be sitting on my lap or in my arms. She gets along well with my dogs but is confident enough to be an only dog in the home. She is very young and just recently recovered from her pneumonia enough to be allowed outside so she is not potty trained but we are working on kennel training and potty pads.  She is not high energy, not a chewer. She just wants to be next to her human as much as possible. She loves to explore, no worries about jumping fences for this little girl but she does like to crawl UNDER the fence and it only takes a small gap when you are 6 pounds!  If you are looking for the tiniest little pit mix you have ever seen she's your girl! *The breed of a shelter puppy is often times a guess based on what traits the dog presents when they are brought into the shelter. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.  Please check out our website, www.ruffstartrescue.org for more details and additional pictures on any of our animals! All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).
