About this Bird
Guido is handsome 41 year old Special Needs Lilac Crown Amazon. Guido was loved very much in his previous home and indulged a bit too much on junk foods. Despite being gluttonous, his blood work showed no long term negative effects. Guido’s New Year’s Resolution is to eat healthier and is slowly being introduced to ZuPreem and fresh veggies. Guido does enjoy his raw green beans and is acquiring more of a palate for the pellets. He does have a physical handicap, a head tilt that has been present for nearly a year. Anti-inflammatories showed no improvement and his Vet feels it was a previous injury. Due to this handicap, Guido over protects himself. He will step up onto a perch or hand but is very nervous. It does take him a few minutes with soft, reassuring words to settle him. Due to his head tilt he cannot fly but rather helicopters down. If Guido is perched on your fingers, walking very slowly with him helps keep this old fella balanced. Guido does have a variety of entertaining noises and apparently does talk. He enjoys holding a conversation with human friends on speaker phone. Guido is being fostered with children under 6 years old, another male Amazon, dogs and a cat and doesn't mind their company. Guido was owned by a gentleman but does well with his foster Momma. Now that Guido has settled in to his foster home and seems much more comfortable interacting with his foster family, we find that he can get very loud at times ;) He would not due well in an apartment, condo or a townhouse . Guido has received a full avian wellness exam with blood workup and has been disease tested for PBFD and chlamydia. He will require at least three in-person visits prior to adoption.Guido may have a permanent handicap and may require slow movements for the remainder of his life. Are you this person to take it nice slow with this handsome old fella?Guido is being lovingly fostered in Jefferson Township, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance, willing to make the required visits . For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Philadelphia, we have no central location. As our birds are living in volunteer foster homes only approved applicants are allowed to make visits. If interested in adopting Guido please complete an electronic adoption application on our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org.

Adopt Guido and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Guido's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Guido's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Guido, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Guido's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Guido was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Guido’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Guido’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Guido’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
