About this Dog
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: April 26, 2019 Size: 45 lbs Location: Marietta, GA RESCUING AUGIE A good friend of ours was alerted to a bad situation in Rockmart regarding 3 puppies living outside with their mother on a chain. The neighbors were caring for the pups, but the condition of the pups was declining and being outside in the blazing Georgia heat at such a young age was not helping. Augie wasn't using his back legs and his back foot was very badly injured. ABOUT AUGIE Augie presented as a "swimmer" pup at first, but as the weeks passed, our vet determined he had neurological issues in his hind legs and severe hip dysplasia. Additionally, at 7 weeks of age, prior to being rescued, he had a severe injury to his right, hind paw. It took several weeks to heal and caused a deformity in that paw. On September 26, 2019, Augie had an FHO surgery to correct the hip dysplasia on his left, hind leg. His front legs have always been very strong and he hasn't had any trouble getting around. Since September 2019, Augie received regular electro-acupuncture, hind leg strength training, and physical therapy. In the house, he walks on his own and he can go up and down stairs. During walks in the neighborhood or parks, Augie uses his "mini wheels" (walker). It is so funny to watch him; he spins, runs, and has fun just like every other dog - he LOVES his wheels! Compact-sized, Augie in his little walker is a cuteness overload and he makes people smile. Even though Augie had to go through all the pain and physical limitations, he is just the happiest guy you could imagine. He has a zest for life and he wakes up smiling. He doesn't think that anything is wrong with his legs and he knows how to have fun. Augie loves to play with dogs and he also loves to snuggle on the couch. He feels comfortable in his crate and he is extremely food driven. Augie is also housetrained and holds his business just like every other healthy dog. If you want a dog that inspires you to make the best out of life, Augie is your guy! Augie would likely do best in a home with another playful dog. It is also preferred that the home has very few stairs so that he is not restricted once he gets older, otherwise his human would have to be committed to assisting his back end during the stair climb. When adopted, Augie's "mini wheels" will go with him. All dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm prevention, and are fed top of the line grain-free food.

Adopt Augie and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Augie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Augie's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Augie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Augie's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Augie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Augie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Augie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Augie’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
