About this Dog
Dallas - Male – 5.5-years-old – GRRALL #0735 Update 12/20/18: Dallas is very energetic in his foster home. He gets along very well with the other dogs in his foster home. Dallas takes a little bit to warm up to new people. He needs an adoptive family who is willing to be patient and help him adjust to his new life. He startles at loud noises. He enjoys seeking affection and petting. He’ll need some training on helping him learn to greet visitors to the home appropriately, which a trainer can help with. He can sometimes flinch or roll on his back when a hand quickly approaches, so he just needs someone to show him love and patience and help him learn nobody is ever going to hurt him again. He loves to play ball. Dallas appears to be house broken. We are looking for an adoptive home that does not have children or that does not have children who visit frequently. We think the perfect home for him will be a quiet home with another female dog for play and companionship. ### Handsome Dallas is about 5 years old, left at a local shelter by a family who no longer wanted him. Dallas appears to be a classic case of a dog who was loved and well cared for until family dynamics changed and there was no longer time or interest in him or in supervising young children in the family. Dallas was afraid of the vet tech and flinched and ducked his head then rolled on his back submissively when approached, but otherwise was very sweet and friendly and loved the attention he was getting from our GRRALL volunteers. Dallas took treats gently and had no issues with being touched and petted anywhere on his body, knows some basic commands, and rides well in the car. Despite being over 5 years old Dallas hadn’t been neutered but this will be done immediately by our GRRALL vet. Dallas will receive a thorough medical check-up and should be available for fostering-adoption soon. We will work with Dallas to learn more about him, assess and correct his fears, and find the best permanent home match possible, with humans who will love and protect Dallas forever, not just when convenient. If you are interested in adopting Dallas or any GRRALL dog, please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/ GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area. We do not have the resources to adopt outside this region and do not ship dogs.
