About this Dog

We adopted Max about 6 weeks ago. He's an 8 or 9 year old dog with unknown history, weighing about 70 lbs but does not seem it at all. He's a nice, pretty chill dog who is good with strangers and non-reactive to cats or dogs. His one challenge is separation anxiety. We think he might do better in a multi-dog home with a yard. Here are some details: Health We think he's about 8 or 9 years old. He's in good shape. He's neutered and has had all his vaccinations. We just had blood work done on him and it all came back normal We have him on a high fiber diet which his body likes Personality Why we are looking for a new home for Max: He has separation anxiety. We didn't know how bad it was until we left him alone for 15-20 minutes and he chewed at the trim on the door. It's possible that it was so stressful because we left him alone in the first week or 2 we had him, which I knew was a mistake when we did it but didn't listen to my gut. Perhaps it will be easier on him the next time. We've been gradually separating him from my husband (his first love) and are having success. He now willingly joins me to hang out while my husband is upstairs. Slowly but surely. We think that if he were in a home with another dog it might be just what he needs. We live in an apartment and have jobs that are very demanding and time consuming, so don't have the capacity to get another dog and/or help Max through the separation anxiety. The good news is that, despite the damage to the trim, Max does not chew on anything that's not food. He enjoys dog biscuits and the occasional bully stick- but not furniture, shoes etc. Other than separation anxiety: He's pretty chill with people and other dogs. He's completely house trained and walks very well on a leash. He does fine at the dog park and at doggy daycare, mostly just sniffing around and exploring. He can be temperamental- at times food protective and doesn't like his feet handled (for wiping, for example). He loves belly rubs We take him hiking with us and he enjoys the outings. We regularly take him on 3-4 mile walks in the neighborhood and he does well on them.

Adopt Max and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Max's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Max receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Max, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Max's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Max was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Max’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Max’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Max’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
