About this Bird

I’m considering rehoming my female, Green Cheek Conure. She’s around 5 years old and I know she’s a female because she laid 2 eggs last Spring. I have her papers from Petco somewhere that have her hatch date, I believe. She’s healthy and playful and loves to dance. She doesn’t talk. She’s an escape artist but usually just plays around on her cage when she gets out unless she gets spooked. Her wings have not been clipped since she left the pet store but she doesn’t always seem to be in complete control when flying. If you’re interested or would like to know more, message me. I’ve had Adele for 3-4 years. A got her from her original owner who purchased her from a pet store on a whim and then realized she was afraid to handle her. She decided to give her away after her dog attacked her. Thankfully, the dog only got her tail feathers but I took her in. My biggest fear in rehoming her is that it wouldn’t work and she would get passed along over and over again. Since she has come into our home, I’ve had a baby and my husbands son has moved in with us. We also have 2 other daughters and we’re all in a 4 bedroom home. I’m now a stay at home mom and due to the pandemic, my husband is working from home. My father who is battling cancer is also here most of the time or I have to be with him. To be completely honest, I’m just feeling overwhelmed with the crowded space, extra mouths to feed and care for, and all the noise. It’s just become too much for me and I’m feeling guilty about not giving her the best quality of life possible. So if there’s a perfect situation out there for her, I’m open to giving her a better life. I will not let her go to a first time or inexperienced bird owner.

Adopt Adele and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Adele's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Adele receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Adele, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Adele's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Adele was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Adele’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Adele’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Adele’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
