About this Dog

Do you have any capacity to take a pitbull mix stray? I have contacted over 20 rescues/shelters, Detroit Animall Control, and cannot get her rescued. I have been trying since March. Our shop has befriended her, but our owners will not allow us to watch over her and keep her safe any longer. They have told us we can't even feed her anymore. She is a non spayed female we named Pepper. She has not been aggressive to me at all. She ended up pregnant and had puppies 7 weeks ago, and I still could not get any help from shelters, rescues, or animal control. She has been staying in our yard with the puppies, but I could not keep the puppies safe due to a fox and a coyote in our yard. I have been able to rehome the 8 puppies. Pepper sometimes has problems with her back leg. I think it may have been broken when we found her. She was abused and afraid of people and loud noises. She still jumps at super loud noises, but is comfortable around our laborers when they come in to work. Just today, she actually ran out of our yard and into the street (she has never done this before) chasing my car. I am now afraid for her safety. Our yard is not totally secure. She is very friendly once she knows you. My husband will not let me keep her, or I would. I have also tried my friends on Facebook. I just don't want her to go to a breeding ring or fighting ring.

Adopt Pepper and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Pepper's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Pepper receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Pepper, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Pepper's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Pepper was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Pepper’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Pepper’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Pepper’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
