About this Dog
Osi is a 10-year-old, 42-pound Black Lab and Shiba Inu mix that we rescued around 2009. He is loyal, protective, and affectionate (but not overly and mostly to his people). He suffers from separation anxiety (takes fluoxetine) and aggression toward other dogs and around food. We were first told (by a veterinarian who specializes in animal behavior) that he was only aggressive toward dogs who sent unfriendly signals to him. Based on that information, we recently decided to adopt a mild-tempered sheepdog puppy to keep him company since he lost his best friend, an 11-year-old Yorkie Poo, who passed away in January. Unfortunately, it isn't working out. We are heartbroken and truly want what is best for Osi. The other issue, though, is that he has become quite used to us all working from home during Covid and we feel he will not do well when life returns to some version of normal. He is also wicked smart! When left alone, he can open door knobs, levers and several types of gates. The only other medical issue is that his hearing seems to be deteriorating. When left alone, he counter/table sweeps and will go through the garbage, if he can get to it. Basically, the best home would be one in which he is the only canine and there is someone home all the time, or there is a super safe room for him to hang out in.

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Osi's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Osi was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Osi’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
