About this Dog
*This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Meet Mrs. Moose – Your Future Shadow and Snuggle Buddy! Mrs. Moose is a sweet and soulful girl who’s looking for a quiet home where she can be your one and only. She prefers to have her people all to herself and isn’t a fan of sharing them with other pets—she’s just that devoted! At first, Moose can be a little cautious, but if you let her come to you on her own terms, you’ll be rewarded with the most loyal companion. Once you’re in her circle, she leans right into you (literally!) and loves to stay close. While she has an independent streak, what she really wants is to be near her favorite humans. Moose isn’t interested in toys just yet, but she does love a good chew and delights in zooming in happy circles, pausing only to grin at you with pure joy. Funny sounds make her light up—she’ll wag her tail like crazy and smile with her whole face! Her absolute favorite things? Belly rubs, mealtime, and you. Moose thrives on routine and feels most secure when she knows when dinner is served and when it’s time to go outside. She doesn't like being left alone (she might pout when you leave for work), but she's a perfect angel while you're gone—no mischief, no mess. This girl has a soft side, too. She was incredibly gentle with her foster’s 3-year-old nephew and quickly warmed up to visiting friends and family. Moose prefers slow introductions, but once she’s decided someone is safe, she’s all love. She gets along well with other dogs on walks and did great with them at the vet, so we believe her behavior may be more about feeling territorial at home. She can be protective of her food around other dogs and prefers to trade when it comes to giving up high-value items — but with consistency and clear boundaries, she’s learning! If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with the sweetest smile and the biggest heart, Mrs. Moose might just be your perfect match. Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape. Mrs. Moose is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Adopt Mrs. Moose and Receive Mrs. Moose's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Mrs. Moose's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Mrs. Moose's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Mrs. Moose, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Mrs. Moose's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Mrs. Moose was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Mrs. Moose’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Mrs. Moose’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Mrs. Moose’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
