Lex is a nice mixed breed dude who came to us from the city pound when his time was up and no one had claimed him. We are totally playing "guess the breeds" with him as he's really kind of a genetic mystery. There could be some kind of shepherd, maybe some boxer, Catahoula...heck, maybe even some border collie. He's 1-2 years old. He will be vet checked and neutered on Aug. 5th and his fee is $150. Lex is a little bit shy at first but becomes a total lovebug within a few minutes. He definitely has a little puppy energy in him. He will need some basic training but seems very ready and willing to please. We do think he'd do okay with other dogs and older kids. We have no way of knowing about cats. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Lex was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Lex’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Lex’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Lex’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
