About this Dog
It breaks our hearts, but we are looking to rehome our 9-month-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, Cosmo. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and in great health. He is friendly, affectionate, treat-motivated, and incredibly smart. He loves to play fetch, is fully potty trained, and has great house manners. We leave him out during the day with access to a dog door, and he does wonderfully. He also uses a kennel and has had positive experiences with it. Cosmo is not being rehomed due to any behavior on his part. Unfortunately, about two months ago, he and our other dog began having serious fights, initiated by our older dog. We immediately began working with animal behaviorists to manage the situation. Despite our efforts, the fights have escalated, and we’ve been advised by the professionals involved that the safest path forward is to separate them. Cosmo did get minor injuries around his eye in the most recent fight, but he is healing well with medication and care. He has played well with other dogs in the past, but because of the recent experiences, we believe he would thrive best as the only dog in a home where he can feel safe and relaxed. Things to know: • He’s leash reactive to other dogs and bikes, but we’ve been actively working on this with training and are already seeing improvement. His new family should be committed to continuing this training. • He is loving, cuddly, and a quick learner who thrives with structure, playtime, and affection. Adopt Cosmo and Receive Cosmo's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Cosmo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cosmo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cosmo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cosmo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cosmo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
