About this Cat
GEM hails from Dryden and is mum to the Gemette’s Litter (Tiger Eye, Zircon and Amethyst) who came south to find their loving families. She’s spayed, vaccinated including her rabies shot, microchipped, had dewormer and also Revolution.m plus she’s also been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. She was just a baby having babies but she was a very caring mumma to her kittens and after doing her duty, it’s now her time to find that perfect family to settle in with. She’s very much a Torti and although loving she only wants to be with you on her terms and when she feels like having a fuss made of her. She will purr when she comes to her foster and will also knead on her leg. Her favourite place to sit is on the window ledge and looking outside watching the bunnies and birds go by. GEM is litter box trained and has been since first coming into foster care. She’s very meticulous and is constantly grooming herself. She kept her babies very clean too and was always giving them a good wash down and making sure they were clean. She’ll lay in the hammock that’s in a the catio and have a sound sleep in it. She seems to prefer kibble to wet food and her favourite snack is Temptations. She’s got into the habit of having them right before bedtime and come around 10 o’clock, she’ll start to get excited knowing she’s going to have them. GEM’s fostered with puppies and it did take her sometime to warm up to them as she was very defensive of them being around her kittens. She’s yet to be caught snuggling next to a puppy though and the odd time she’ll still hiss at them. The funny thing is that when they’re sleeping she’ll stealthily walk by them while staring at them as if to check them out. She’ll suit being in a home with a cat savvy dog but we do recommend a slow, monitored introduction while the dog is kept leashed. She has another cat in her foster home and they do live in harmony but again, not snuggling up together yet. She can be the only cat in a home as long as she isn’t left alone for long periods of time. Children should be aged 10 plus and be loving, caring and considerate to animals. If GEM sounds like the perfect fit for your family then please submit an adoption application to meet her.

Adopt GEM and Receive GEM's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, GEM's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is GEM's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the GEM, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming GEM's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and GEM was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, GEM’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the GEM’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, GEM’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
