Thread: How do you get volunteers??

Recently i started volunteering at my local animal shelter. The thing I've noticed is how much volunteers are needed, and how lacking they are to have enough.
What can we do to encourage volunteers? I'm new to the area, so i don't have a lot of personal contacts to ask for help.

Please offer any ideas or suggestions you might have.

I answer just about every volunteer that applies at Adopt-a-Pet (you can have them mail you when someone fills out their volunteer form). Mostly no one ever answers or they turn out to find out they are too busy.
It is not an easy thing to do.
