Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

What kind of rescue are you? I found a stray and cannot locate the owner. I have 3 dogs myself but the Ardmore animal shelter will put strays down in 3 days, so I'm looking for a rescue! Where are you located and why don't you take in dogs right now? Please be more transparent on your web site.
I am very confused when reading your website. You are called 7th Hope Animal Rescue yet you write we do not take in animals nor do you place animals. What do you do? You refer people to the closest non killl shelter. Yet I can not find one in your listings. The closest is the Shawnee Gas Chamber! I am trying to help SAVE their animals! What do you suggest I do. Where do I go? I have been fighting them for a long time.
