Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

PPR's Twin Cities Spay & Neuter Services: Throughout 2013, Pet Project Rescue is sponsoring spay/neuter services for low-income owners of “bully/power breeds”, as well as breeds listed on our poster, in the Twin Cities. For income qualifying owners of dogs in the Metro area, Pet Project Rescue will pay for the costs of a spay or neuter procedure with Minnesota Spay/Neuter Assistance Program. These spay/neuter services will help reduce the number of unwanted litters, and as a result reduce the number of animals dropped off and euthanized at local shelters. Together we can make our community a better place for all animals! To register for a PPR-sponsored surgery, email [email protected].

Community Cat Spay/Neuter Services: Pet Project Rescue sponsors spay/neuter services for free-roaming and feral cats in the Twin Cities as part of our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program. These free spay/neuter services are offered only for local, free-roaming or feral cats that will not be adopted personally or to a third party. Pet Project Rescue also offers non-financial assistance to qualified caregivers to help trap and maintain colonies in the Twin Cities. Our TNR program aims to reduce the population of homeless cats in our community in a safe and humane manner. For questions about our TNR program or to register a feral or free-roaming cat for a spay/neuter procedure, email [email protected].
