Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

I believe in no kill but it takes time and money and its important to donate. If 100,000 people in the Brockton/Randolph area donated just 3 dollars a year I am sure it would help.

This is a tough field and I know any type of volunteers would help. I called and they got back to me in two days for a feral cat in our backyard that had 5 kittens. Also donate something, anything will help. These poor cats we believe the previous owner of the house just left her and now 5 kittens. I pray they all find homes. We have 2 cats already from our back tenant and I am tempted to adopt one of these guys. This place is a great place.
