Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Home For Friendless Animals is a not-for-profit no-kill shelter and adoption facility providing a loving refuge for stray and abandoned dogs and cats. The Home For Friendless Animals was incorporated in 1943. It was located on US 40, west of Bridgeport, Indiana. In May 1960 HFA moved to the banks of the White River in Noblesville, Indiana. During the fall of 2002, HFA relocated to a 73 acre farm in Montgomery County south of Waynetown,IN. The Home For friendless Animals is a lot of work, laughter and tears. It's also a wonderfully rewarding place for those of us fortunate enough to be part of it. The dogs and cats we care for are our reason for being here and the inspiration for all that we do.
