501(c)(3) corporation, No-kill shelter. We house approximately 200 cats & dogs 365 days a year.
Opened in March of 2000.
All pets are spayed/neuter before being made available for adoption. All pets are microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations. Dogs are heartworm tested, treated if positive & are then kept on HW & flea/tick preventative. All cats are tested for FeLv & FIV. If they test positive, we have a room for FeLv cats & one for FIV positive cats.
Cats occupy the top floor & live in open rooms (no cages) after they complete their quarantine period. Dogs are housed on the ground floor. Dogs have spacious kennels & spacious play yards where they are let out at least 4 times per day/night.
We lease the old Augusta Stockade (jail) building from Augusta-Richmond County.
